PM will inaugurate first phase M-9 Karachi- Hyderabad Motorway tomorrow

KARACHI: February 1, 2017. (Nazir Siyal) Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Friday will inaugurate first phase of completed section of M-9 Karachi-Hyderabad Motorway at Nooriabad here on Feb 03, 2017. Frontier Works Organization (FWO), was carrying the project converting existing Super Highway into 6 lane Motorway, that will connect Karachi Northern Bypass with a trumpet interchange. Then it continues out of the city and Bin Qasim port areas. The total cost of the project is Rs. 46.78 billion and it would be constructed in four sections. The scope of work includes 275 km long Service Road among 8 Interchanges and pedestrian bridges, 11 new bridges, rehabilitation of 2 old bridges, 2 Service Areas, an efficient and state of the art ETTM/IT system as well as massive tree plantation and landscaping both sides. Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in Karachi would also visit FWO Trauma Center and public School at Dumba Goth near toll plaza and will attend the inauguration ceremony at Noori Abad a center point of Karachi-Hyderabad motorway here tomorrow. Officials disclosed that around 132 KM Karachi-Hyderabad Motorway 3 sections will be completed by October 2017, among one section has completed in February 2017 that will be opened tomorrow. The M-9 Motorway will have seven inter-changes, two service areas at the midway points and 16 toll plazas on entry and exit points. Frontier Works Organization ultimately completed first phase within stipulated time, it was promised by the FWO Chief Lt. General Mohammed Afzal since ground breaking of M-9 in 2015. The routes will eventually meat the CPEC objectives to connect national arteries to the up country and Gwadar port city. CPEC significance of the projects in Pakistan is vital to connect road sector in the sustainable development of Pakistan economy that would prove for socio- economic uplift all corners of Pakistan FWO working on various development projects of motorways to Gwadar and Karachi to up country meant for dawn of hope in CPEC objectives with concerned to operationalization of Gwadar Seaport. China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) now turned into reality for regional connectivity from China via Karachi-Gwadar Seaport a major trade route and neighboring countries Afghanistan, Iran, and Central Asia.
