Rev. Franklin Graham Addresses at President Trump's Phoenix Rally praying for unity

Phoenix: August 24, 2017. President Trump held a rally in Arizona yesterday evening, and before he spoke, the Rev. Franklin Graham gave the opening prayer. According to The Christian Post, Graham, who has distanced himself from the Republican Party, but has often spoken favorably of the President, called out America’s sins and asked the Lord for help. "Our heavenly Father, You have blessed our country more than any nation on Earth and we acknowledge that apart from you we have no hope. We come tonight as a troubled nation. We are broken spiritually. We are divided politically. We are divided racially," Graham prayed in the invocation. "And we are adrift morally, following the whatever direction the wind of popular culture blows with no regard for Your Word or the consequences of our disobedience. We ask tonight for your help." Graham also asked the Lord to not allow Americans to be divided and that those who are attempting to divide the nation would be stopped. “[I]t is my prayer that you will just shut their mouths like you shut the mouths of the lions years ago.” Graham also publicly confessed the sins of the nation and prayed for the President, Vice President, and Congressmen and women to have wisdom as they lead the country. Trump himself gave what many commentators are calling a contentious address, full of knocks against his favorite targets, such as the media. In a less-contentious portion of his 75-minute long address in Phoenix, the President stated, “This evening, joined together with friends, we reaffirm our shared customs, traditions and values. We love our country. We celebrate our troops. We embrace our freedom. We respect our flag. We are proud of our history. We cherish our Constitution — including, by the way, the Second Amendment. We fully protect religious liberty. We believe in law and order. And we support the incredible men and women of law enforcement. And we pledge our allegiance to one nation under God.” Courtesy: Christian Headlines
