Islamabad: August 24, 2017. (PCP) A photo exhibition showing the link between the UK and Pakistan over the last 70 years will be exhibited at the House of Commons – in the UK’s Parliament in London. The British High Commission exhibition – entitled “Shared history; shared future” – is a collection of photographs taken in Pakistan that showcase the close links between the UK and Pakistan. It will be exhibited in the British Parliament for a week, and will also be supported by the Pakistani High Commission in London. Acting High Commissioner, Richard Crowder, said: “We are delighted to be bringing our photo exhibition to cities across the UK and Pakistan. It shows the real depth of the UK-Pakistan relationship over the last 70 years, as well as showcasing the vibrant culture, beautiful scenery and amazing people of Pakistan. The exhibition includes HM The Queen’s visits to Pakistan, alongside schools and bridges built by UK Aid, programmes supported by British Council and links between our armed services.” Pakistani High Commissioner Syed Ibne Abbas, said “We are really pleased to be working with the British High Commission in Islamabad to bring the photo exhibition to the UK. Celebrating Pakistan to parliamentarians, as well as in cities in the UK with big Pakistani communities, is a great opportunity for us to showcase Pakistan as a place to visit, to trade with and to work with.” The exhibition will also be shown until the end of the year in The Library of Birmingham, the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum in Glasgow, Manchester Central Library, Bradford Library and Luton Library. The Library of Birmingham and the Kelvingrove Museum have both featured in the most visited places in Britain. The same exhibition has also been exhibited in Quetta, Peshawar, Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore and Sialkot. It will be feature in Faisalabad, Hyderabad and Multan in the coming months.
