Tamergara. Dir. April 15, 2009. (Ghulam Ghaus reports for PCP) The protesting rally of the Jirga elders of Dir upper & Dir lower continues for the seventh day & it has been extended to 23rd April with the unanimous consensus of the Jirga members. MPA Hayat Khan & MPA Mehmood Zeb Khan also attended the rally today. They are rallying for the safe release of the abducted persons from Dir upper & Dir lower. “Their protest will continue until absolute peace in both the districts of Dir region is not restored & Qazi courts not established under Nizam-e-Adl regulation” the jirga members told during a press conference in Tamergara. The Jirga also decided that business centres will be closed from tomorrow in Tamergara during the protesting hours i.e. from 11:00 O’ clock to 2:00 O’clock After the press conference a group of the Jirga members comprising with Malak Faiz Muhammad khan, Malak Sher Bahadar Khan, Mian Sultan Yousaf & other went to Maidan area & negotiated with Taliban in that area for the release of the kidnapped persons from both the districts of Dir. Syed Muhammad Javed, the commissioner of the Malakand division also attended these negotiations. One group of the Jirga members consisting of Malak Jehan Zeb, Sherin Zada, Haji Nowshad, Haji Abdur-Rehman, Muharam Khan and others went to Amandara and met with Maulana Sofi Muhammad. They congratulated Sofi on signing the draft of Nizam-e-Adl regulation by the president. Sofi assured them of the full peace & tranquility in Malakand division through implementation of Nizam-e-Adl.
