LARKANA: June 25, 2009. (Nazir Siyal reports for PCP) The People of Civil Society Organizations in Larkana formed a new social forum “Larkana Samaji Ithad (LSI) regarding the promotion of education, health and elimination of poverty unemployment, drug abuse and other social evils of society. The meeting selected unanimously Abdul Raza Dero as the Chairman of Larkana Samaji Ithed for three months and later the body will extended the office bearers. The meeting also discussed on various issues pertaining to social matters including health, Education, unemployment, law and order situation, frequent the drug use and drug peddling, development of Katchi Abadies and other particular issues of Larkana district. Activists of the various Organizations including Muhammad Salims Mangi, Ashique Ali Gopang, Sadaqat Ali Mughal, Fayaz Soomro, Musa Arejo, Dr. Raza Muhammad Channo, Jamal Shah and Ahmed Ali Shaikh emphasized on the government and other institutions to resolve the basic problems of public and resolve their all matters on priority level. Meanwhile, All Pakistan Government Employees Federation District Larkana continued its token hunger strike on second consecutive day for the acceptance of their demands out side Press Club Larkana here on Thursday. On the occasion, Muhammad Sabir Soomro, Manzoor Ahmed Aheer, Anwar Ali Bhutto, Abdul Rehman Sangi, Syed Ali Raza Shah, Arbab Ali Mirani, Deedar Ali Khokhar, Ghulam Rasool Larik, Abdul Wahab Mughari, Abdul Qayoom Dhamarh, NAsarullah Abro and others were spoke on the occasion. Addressing to the protestors leaders said that democratic government has denied to provide son quota to the heirs of deceased and retired employees which is injustice and anti employees policies. They further said that political interference in various department is increasing day by day whereas right of deserving people are not given properly. APGEFD Larkana leaders demanded of government to approve son quota of deceased and retired employees otherwise they have threatened to accelerate their protest level.
