Islamabad: July 29, 2009. (PCP) “If we failed to get justice for our three main issues till 2nd August, we shall set on fire our 30 tents and house holds on 3rd August” it was announced by former Federal Minister J Salik, after burning 7 tents along with beds, clothes, furniture and other hose holds on the same place in Chak Shehzad from where slum dwellers were evicted by a brutal Police action on 18th May.
A rally of hundreds of Chak Shehzad efffectees with their 7 tents and house holds reached the same venue from where they were evicted in result of a Police action 70 days back. Julius Salik Convener World Minorities Alliance was in lead. They set on fire seven tents along with beds, clothes, furniture and other house holds. Protesters were carrying place cards with pictures of Chief Justice of Pakistan and Great Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.
A man in rally said talking with our reporter that it is J Salik who has cool down Christians especially youngsters in the touchy issue of detention of 47 young Christian women all night in private camps of Police after 18th May brutal action. He added that its J Salik’s patriotic nature that he is keeping the matter in low pace, so concerned quarters should take positive step to solve the issue at earliest before it is too late.
I feel very sorry to say that in last 70 days non of any persons belonging to so called human rights lovers, NGOs or Government officials appear to even utter words of sympathy to these effectees of such shame full illegal Police action, said J Salik when he was standing by the burning tents at Chak Shehzad, Islamanbad. He warned “If we failed to get justice for our three main issues till 2nd August, we shall set on fire our 30 tents and house holds on 3rd August”. And an other option is still on board that we shall give a Nation wide call for strike with the help of our Muslim forces, which has always sowed solidarity with Christians in past.
