Lahore, Pakistan: November 26, 2009.( Inderias Bhatti) Instead of property inheritance Anwar Masih inherited the left loan of his father which was divided to three of them. He married Rahat Sardar who as per of her attractive looks and indebting had been under the threat and risk of sexual abuse. According to few rumors she had been rapped, some say she had illicit relations with the kiln owner, with Jamadar (collector of the Kiln), with…. Anwar Masih had been struggling hard with his wife and three daughters to work hard dreaming to repay the loan and move to city for some alternate earning. Failures in repayment he was suggested to sell his kidney. He did it but the helpless fellow could not get the promised money and instead was caught in a false offence and remained three days in police custody. One of his daughter Rubby committed suicide as per of the shame of her open rape. Though debt taken in advance (Pashgee) is illegal as per of law but it is a bitter actuality with the bounded laborers in Pakistan from which authorities always ostracize and instead are hand in gloves with the oppressors of the helpless brick makers. And now her eldest daughter Kausar Bibi has converted to Islam. While answering the questions she became very aggressive and said that our supporters were rather guised devil who repeatedly rapped me with promises of our loan repayment and better future. She spitted on the floor with a word “thoo” to these guised supporters. I now feel secure in this new religion. Our loan is totally repaid. My promising husband has now bought us a house in the city and we will start a new life. The family left the kiln leaving inspirations, questions, accusers, good and bad words behind which will sure be the discussion topic of the brick makers’ neighborhood…… This story will be forgotten as of the previous ones. But is there any way of debt relief instead of such short cuts??? Isn’t it an examination of the conscious for us all!!!
