Peace Ambassadors Pakistan has completed its Peace survey on 15th February, 2010.

Lahore: February 17, 2010. (PCP) The aim of the survey was to know the opinions of youth about the needs of: 01. Being at peace needs; 02. Building peace needs; 03. Major threats to peace. The survey was done with 287 students of Forman Christian College Lahore; Government College, Lahore; Pak Aims, Gulberg, Lahore; Punjab College, Ferozpur Road, Lahore; Sacred Heart Cathedral, Temple Road, Lahore and St. Anthony’s High School, Lawrence Road, Lahore. The followings are the findings of the survey Being at peace needs 01. Analyzing the social systems/mind sets; 01.5% 02. Externalities corrections;48% 03. Individual contributions;03% 04. Joint effort/struggle;7.5% 05. Optimism about life and God;03% 06. Self contentment;12% 07. State interventions;11% 08. Other/silent/not interested/angry; 14% Building peace needs 01. Contributing/joining/participating through others; 07% 02. Demonstrating the initiatives;23% 03. Lobbying support;09% 04. Prayers;41% 05. Self initiation (Personal contributions/passion);11% 06. Studying/discussing the issues with like minded (solution based dialogues);01.5% 07. Others/silent/not interested/angry; 07.5% Major threats to peace are 01. Bribe; 12% 02. Corruption; 09% 03. Equality; 01.5% 04. Favoritism; 43% 05. Justice; 04.5% 06. Poverty; 10% 07. Selfishness; 09% 08. Social divides; 01% 09. Terrorism; 03% 10. Others/silent/not interested/angry; 07% While talking to the newsmen Mr. Inderias Dominic Bhatti said that during the survey student showed their anger against the politicians, state and civil society whose 99.9% of programs have nothing to do with the common masses and ordinary citizens. Mohammad Ikhalq Shafiq said that he experienced aggression and anger while this survey because students said that that kind of survey are done just to work on the foreign donors agendas and to fill the pockets. “We will Inshallha work on the way forward with some peace initiatives after the documentation of the survey which is expected to be done in June, 2010” he added.
