Sahiwal: March 2, 2018. (PCP) Sahiwal based organizations the "Peaceful & Active Center for Humanity (PEACH) and Empowering Youth through Education & Skills (EYES)" jointly held a peaceful protest against the misuse of blasphemy law against the minorities in Pakistan in front of Press Club, Sahiwal and demanded justice for Patras Masih and his cousin Sajid Masih. The protest was joint venture with the people of all faiths including Christians, Muslim, Sikh and Ahmadi were participated for the solidarity with the victims of discriminatory law.
Imran Anjum, Executive Director, non-profit organization PEACH condemned the incident and called for effective oversight of law enforcement agencies to hold them accountable and prevent abuse of power. He also demanded a joint investigation team (JIT) to probe the incident of a Christian man, Sajid Masih’s fall from the fourth floor of the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) building in Lahore while in the FIA’s custody.
Ashik Naz, Director EYES demanded that the police withdraw the case registered against Sajid Masih for attempted suicide.
