Pakistan: July 15, 2010. (PCP) On call of Gawahi Mission Trust, hundreds of Christians rallied in front of Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Center demanding punishment for Muslim Doctor Mohammad Jabbar Memon who raped Christian student Nurse Magdalene Ashraf and then throw him from 4th floor window in vicinity of JPMC on evening of July 13, 2010. The protest was joined by Justice and Peace Commission Karachi, Sindh Medico Association, Nursing Association and Christian Lawyers Foundation CLF chanting slogans “ Justice for Magdalene Ashraf” “Punish Rapist Muslim Doctor Jabbar Memon” Pastor Naveed Malik, Chairman of Gawahi Mission Trust was only high profile religious leader present in procession while Two Christian members of Sindh Assembly and others avoided to show their presence in protest. The rapist doctor was also admitted in JPMC where Magdalene Ashraf Masih was fighting for life in intensive care unit of hospital but he was moved to a private hospital on July 14, 2010. A case of simple assault which falls under section 324 was registered against Dr. Jabbar Memon in Saddar Police Station on July 13, 2010, but charges of rape were not filed by police against culprit. It is doubted that links of Rapist Muslim doctor in Sindh government are conspiring to safe him from rape charges. The protestors marched toward Karachi Press Club from Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Center and staged a protest in front of Press Club.
