Sheikhupura, Punjab: LEAD Ministries has issued an urgent appeal for justice after the forced eviction and violent harassment of Zulfiqar Masih, a Christian resident of Village Surmay Dani in District Sheikhupura. According to Zulfiqar’s video testimony, he and his family were brutally expelled from their home by Muhammad Fayyaz, a powerful local Muslim landlord, and his associates. The attackers physically assaulted the family and unlawfully seized their livestock, which was their sole source of livelihood.

The incident reportedly involved support from individuals in the nearby Jatri area and falls under the jurisdiction of Police Station Narang, Tehsil Muridke. Despite the seriousness of the case, local authorities have failed to provide adequate protection or pursue legal action against the perpetrators, leaving the Christian family displaced and living in fear. Zulfiqar further claimed that he was forced into exploitative labor by Fayyaz without proper wages—a common yet underreported practice in rural Pakistan, where Christian families often endure coercion by powerful landlords.

LEAD Ministries is actively documenting Zulfiqar Masih’s case and calling for urgent intervention. “This is not merely a personal dispute; it is a blatant act of religious persecution and economic exploitation,” said Sardar Mushtaq Gill, founder of LEAD Ministries. Pastor Imran Amanat, a senior leader of the organization, added, “Zulfiqar Masih is one of many Christian victims suffering silently under feudal oppression and religious discrimination—a systemic form of violence in our villages. His testimony reveals harsh realities that many are too afraid to speak about.”

Pakistan’s Christian minority, a small percentage of the population, has long faced systemic challenges including forced conversions, false blasphemy accusations, bonded labor, and socio-economic marginalization. The situation is particularly dire in rural areas, where Christian families often live isolated under the unchecked authority of local landlords. In such environments, justice is elusive, and silence is often the only option for survival.

By bravely speaking out through a video statement, Zulfiqar has broken this silence. LEAD Ministries calls on civil society, the media, and the international community not to let this testimony go unheard. “This family has lost everything—their home, livelihood, and safety. The least we can do is ensure they do not lose their right to justice,” said Gill.

LEAD Ministries continues to tirelessly advocate for persecuted Christians across Pakistan. Zulfiqar Masih’s case is now at the forefront of their efforts. The organization reiterates its urgent call for immediate state protection, an impartial investigation, and full accountability for those responsible for this grave violation of human rights.
