Sialkot: Yousaf Masih, a 44-year-old Christian painter from Sialkot, was found brutally murdered two days after going missing.

His mutilated body was discovered on a garbage heap, sparking horror and grief within the local Christian community.

Yousaf leaves behind three young daughters, now orphaned and without financial support.

BACA has stepped in to provide the family with legal aid, financial assistance, and help in their pursuit of justice.

In a shocking and deeply distressing incident, Yousaf Masih (44), a Christian painter and father of three from Christian Colony, Sialkot, was found brutally murdered on 13th September 2025. His mutilated body was discovered on a garbage heap two days after he went missing, sending waves of grief and fear throughout the Christian community.

A Horrific Discovery

Yousaf went missing on 9th September, after leaving his home around 10 p.m. He had asked his eldest daughter, Khushbu (17), to prepare dinner for him before stepping out, but he never returned. His brother, Younis Masih (50), told BACA that he initially assumed Yousaf had gone to work early the next morning, but when he did not return the following day, the family’s concern turned to panic. On 11th September, Khushbu called the police helpline (15) to report her father missing.

Police registered FIR No. 1447/25 under Section 365 (kidnapping) of the Pakistan Penal Code and began searching for him. Tragically, their efforts ended in horror when, on 13th September, a garbage collector found Yousaf’s disfigured remains near his home.

Witnesses described the scene as unbearable — Yousaf’s throat had been slit, his body mutilated, and acid poured over his remains. His body was so badly damaged that it had to be collected in polythene bags by the forensic team before being taken for post-mortem examination.

Local journalist Javaid Gul told BACA:

“Such extreme violence is unimaginable in humans. Yousaf’s body bore signs of torture beyond comprehension.”

A Family Left in Sorrow

Yousaf leaves behind three young daughters — Khushbu (17), Mehar (9), and Sehar (8) — now completely orphaned. Their mother, Asia Bibi, died suddenly five years ago under uncertain circumstances, leaving Yousaf as their sole guardian and provider.

He worked tirelessly as a daily-wage painter, ensuring his daughters had food, schooling, and a stable home despite their poverty. His death has left the girls destitute, with no parents to care for them.

Yousaf’s brother Younis Masih, overwhelmed with grief, told BACA:

“I rushed to the place but could not bear to see my brother’s body. He had no enemies — we cannot understand why anyone would do this.”

The girls are now living with their uncle, Younis, in the modest home he once shared with their late father, Yousaf. However, Younis has expressed deep concern about his ability to care for three additional children without financial support. We are seeking to raise £1,200 — the equivalent of Yousaf’s £100 monthly wage for a year — to help provide stability for the girls during this difficult time. In addition, we aim to fund legal representation to protect their inheritance rights to the shared family home and to ensure that police properly investigate and prosecute Yousaf’s killer.

We fear that, without help, his nieces may not only lose their parents but also their home and inheritance.

Yousaf was laid to rest in the local village graveyard on the same day his body was found. Despite the brutality of the crime, no suspects have yet been arrested, leaving the family fearful and desperate for justice.

BACA’s Response

On 8th October, the British Asian Christian Association (BACA) team visited the bereaved family, offering prayers, comfort, and assurances of both legal representation and financial aid.

BACA is now assisting the family in their pursuit of justice and working to secure the wellbeing and future of Yousaf’s orphaned daughters.

Juliet Chowdhry, Trustee of BACA, said:

“These three young girls have endured unimaginable loss. Five years ago, they lost their mother suddenly — and now their father has been taken from them in the most brutal way possible. They are left with nothing: no parents, no income, and no certainty about their future. Though their uncle has opened his home to them, he is already struggling to provide for his own family and cannot sustain three more children without help. These desperate children need our collective support — both to survive and to heal. We will stand with them, fight for justice, and do everything in our power to ensure they are not abandoned in their suffering.”
