On 5th November, Juliet visited Nawab Bibi (77), widow of the late Pastor Zafar Bhatti (RIP), one of Pakistan’s longest-serving Christian blasphemy prisoners.
Pastor Zafar was acquitted on 3rd October 2025 after 13 years in jail, but tragically died of cardiac arrest just two days later. (Read more here)
With tears in her eyes, Nawab Bibi shared her grief with Juliet:
“I remained steadfast and loyal through his thirteen years of imprisonment. I thanked God the moment I heard he was released. I did not know Zafar had come home only for a short time.”
Juliet comforted her, promising that BACA will continue to support her just as we have throughout Zafar’s imprisonment.
BACA has already hired a full-time day carer, ensures regular hospital visits, and monitors her medication and blood pressure.
Nawab Bibi expressed her deep gratitude:
“I could have died a long time ago without BACA’s help. I have nothing to give them but thanks and prais. I pray God blesses BACA for helping people like me.”
Reuniting With the Children of Shama and Shehzad
Juliet and Hannah also visited Suleman (15), Sonia (13), and Poonam (10)—the orphaned children of Shama and Shehzad, a Christian couple lynched and burned alive in 2014 after a false blasphemy accusation. (Read more here)
BACA has supported the children ever since, providing:
A live-in nanny
Household needs
Emotional and spiritual care
The surprise visit brought joy to the children and their grandfather, Mukhtar Masih (65).
Sonia shared:
“We are thankful to BACA for helping and supporting us.”
She also shared how the recent breakdown of their refrigerator has added to their daily struggles, leaving the family without any means to keep their food fresh in the intense heat.”
“I have to make dough three times a day because it spoils. Sometimes our cooked food goes bad.”
Juliet assured them that BACA will provide a new fridge to ease their daily struggles.
Both Sonia and Poonam expressed their dream of becoming doctors—dreams BACA is committed to helping them pursue.
Condolences and Critical Support for the Family of Nabeel Masih
On 8th November, Juliet and Hannah visited the family of Nabeel Masih, the youngest person ever charged with blasphemy—arrested at just 14 years old in 2016.
Nabeel suffered a sudden decline in health in mid-2025 and passed away on 31st August 2025 after battling acute liver failure in hospital.
His father, Salamat Masih (65), expressed gratitude:
“BACA supported Nabeel with passion and has helped so many blasphemy victims. We are eternally grateful.”
The family currently lives without electricity, forcing them to spend nights in darkness. Salamat humbly requested help:
They urgently require £1,000 to install a solar solution that will finally give them reliable overnight electricity — a lifeline BACA is committed to helping them secure.

Basharat’s father, George Masih (45), expressed heartfelt thanks:
“We are grateful for the efforts being made to fight my son’s case.”
His uncle, Naveed Masih, added:
“We have always been satisfied with the efforts of the British Asian Christian Association, one of the very few charities that truly help Christian victims in Pakistan. Many have taken photos, but none ever came to our rescue — yet BACA has done so twice. We are very hopeful that Basharat will be released very soon.”
Juliet and Hannah prayed with the family and assured them of BACA’s continued commitment.
Juliet Chowdhry, trustee of British Asian Christian Association:
“In every home we entered, we saw pain—but we also saw courage. With God’s help and the generosity of our donors, BACA will keep rebuilding lives and standing with the persecuted.”
